Danio Connect creates a network to bring together retail businesses, nonprofit organizations, and consumers while raising money for local charities.
Which type of Danio Connect account should I sign up for?
We offer three different types of accounts: Marketplace, Nonprofit, and Connect Community Member.
Marketplace Members are for-profit businesses looking to connect with other Marketplace, Nonprofit, and Connect Community members. For an annual fee which can be paid via credit card directly through the website, you receive access to a profile page where you can share current news and information about your business with your followers (see our Tips and Tricks for ideas on how to engage your readers). You can also follow other organizations and receive a daily email blast with current news updates, articles, and upcoming events. You can even recommend other organizations and connect your followers with other businesses and nonprofits they can trust.
Nonprofit Members enjoy all the benefits of Danio Connect, FREE of charge! You must have a valid Employer Identification Number, or EIN, at the time of registration in order to sign up as a Nonprofit member. Your membership gives you a profile page to spread the word about what’s happening in your organization (see our Tips and Tricks for ideas on how to reach more members of your community). You can follow other organizations to receive their news updates, articles, and upcoming events in a daily email blast, and recommend trusted organizations to your followers. Support other nonprofits in your community by following them and sharing their information with your readers. Plus, as a Nonprofit member, you can receive donations from other members and followers. If you already have a donation page on your website, you can link it directly from your DanioConnect profile page.
Connect Community Members are consumers who would like to connect with local organizations and keep up to date on exciting news in their community. Anyone who has access to the internet can browse Danio Connect at any time without signing up for an account, but as a Community member, you can follow your favorite businesses and nonprofit organizations to receive a daily email blast with current info, receive special discounts, and more! Nonprofit members can receive donations directly through the Danio Connect website, so you can rest easy knowing that any donation you give goes directly to the causes that speak to you. You can search for a specific organization to follow, or browse members of the Danio Connect community to discover something new. To register for a FREE Connect Community Member account, we only require your name (if you prefer, you may enter a first name and last initial) and your email address so that we can make sure you receive updates from the members you follow.
How can Danio Connect help my business?
When business owners join the DanioConnect community, they join a thriving network which provides endless opportunities to take advantage of the power of referrals. For an annual fee much lower than the cost of conventional local advertising, information about DanioConnect business owners’ products and services are not only easily found by potential customers, but are also recommended by other organizations in the Danio Connect network. A portion of each Danio Connect business use of Share My Message service is donated to the Danio Connect nonprofit organization that participates. This allows businesses to directly reach the nonprofit community and help the causes most important to them. How can Danio Connect help nonprofit organizations?
Nonprofit organizations are able to sign up for Danio Connect free of charge. A portion of each Danio Connect business use of Share My Message service is donated to the Danio Connect nonprofit organization that participates. This allows businesses to directly help the causes most important to them. Because it creates a network of businesses across a wide range of industries, Danio Connect also serves as the perfect resource when nonprofits’ clients are in need of services of any kind.
Do I have to offer a discount for clients who find my business through Danio Connect?
All Marketplace participants are required to offer a discount of no less than 10% at all times. This discount will be listed on your profile page so that customers can find it easily. Marketplace participants are able to edit current discounts through their profile page, and can even schedule deals to be available to customers on specific dates.
Can I increase visibility for my organization on Danio Connect?
For an additional fee, Marketplace participants can add their organizations to the advertising banners which appear to anyone perusing the DanioConnect website, whether or not they follow your business. Please contact us directly if you would like to discuss additional advertising options.
How do I sign up for Danio Connect?
Simply scroll down to the footer and click on either “Be A Marketplace Participant” or “Be A Nonprofit Participant.” Enter the required information for your organization and click “Next.” Marketplace participants will be directed to a payment page to submit their annual subscription fee using any major credit card; non-profit participants do not need to pay a fee. Click “Next” once again to be taken to your profile page to add information about your organization.
How do I edit my profile?
Click “Edit My Profile” in the footer of the Danio Connect website to be directed to your profile dashboard. To add your logo, click in the “Insert Logo Here” circle in the upper left, which will prompt you to upload a .jpg or .png file. Update your business information using the fields at the bottom of the page. You can add your mission statement or any other information you might want others to know about your organization. Let others know what type of organization you own by clicking “Category 1” and choosing the appropriate description from the drop-down menu; you can add additional categories by clicking the additional Category fields. You can also add a photo by clicking on “Insert additional photo here,” which will prompt you to upload a .jpg or .png file.
